Dr. Naina Khera-McRackan
M.D., FACOG
Dr. Khera is an integrative gynecologist who has developed a cost-effective model to address hormone balance and metabolism, importance of stress modulation, lifestyle changes, sexual health, and postpartum care. She has created a consultancy clinic where women never feel rushed and always feel listened to.
She was fortunate to have numerous mentors who believed this same way, both when she was training at UNC Chapel Hill and when she was on staff as an attending physician. However, she became discouraged by clinical expectations of quick patient interactions, hasty organ-specific diagnoses, and over-simplified remedies that at times resulted in transient results at best.
Through her experiences and listening to the women around her she has realized that there are gaps in the way we approach gynecologic care. Many women report feeling disenfranchised in traditional medicine at various points in their life. Postpartum mothers often resort to non-academic, often fear-based internet advice to address their postpartum pelvic discomfort, their incontinence, their low energy, and mood lability. Women in peri-menopause often struggle finding care and navigating hormone replacement therapy as their life-altering symptoms worsen. Women are keenly aware that stress, sleep, gut and metabolic health are rarely addressed during their routine gynecologic visits and are critically important in overall health and well-being.
Aside from being a board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Obstetricans and Gynecologists, Dr. Khera is also a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine as well as The Institute for Functional Medicine.
